Deb Riley had a very difficult New Year's Eve day, going with friends to scatter the ashes of her friend and mentor, Dag Hamar. Finally everyone is gone and she's sitting at home with Maizie, the half pitbull half dachshund mix, basically feeling very alone and sorry for herself. (See Municipal Blondes.) "Stocks & Bondage" picks up on New Year's Day and will leave Deb gasping for breath.

So, I just heard a soft knock at my door. Someone has decided not to leave me alone on New Year’s Eve. I’m betting it’s Jordan.

Of course, it could be Cinnamon.

Or both.

You know what? Either way, I’m going to get kissed at midnight tonight.
